Anguilla is a small coral island located in the Eastern Caribbean, about six miles from St. Maarten (SXM). It is located on the northeastern-most point of the Leeward Islands (18N, 63W).
Known for its 33 white sand beaches and turquoise waters, the island has been voted #1 in the Caribbean by Travel and Leisure four years in a row. Anguilla is considered by many to be one of the Caribbean’s best-kept secrets with its gorgeous beaches, friendly people and many wonderful restaurants.
Renowned for its beaches, Anguilla is also known for its broad selection of dining opportunities, ranging from beachside shacks offering fresh-grilled crayfish to evening elegance under a starry sky. Helmed by some of the region’s most talented chefs, the island's 100-plus restaurants feature native Caribbean cuisine influenced by Spanish, French, English, and African cultures, with a focus on fresh, local seafood.
“As far as Caribbean islands are concerned, Anguilla stands above the rest,” writes Travel and Leisure. “Incredible dining, amazing live music, a range of top-notch hotels, and some of the friendliest people that I've encountered in the Caribbean.”
